How to Use Unique Email Activations: Free Beacons Product

Most creators will want to keep things simple and have one welcome email or sequence sent to all subscribers, no matter their source of signups. However, for more advanced users, you may want to have different signup sources for different automated emails depending on your needs.

There are 2 main kinds of triggers for welcome emails + sequences that can be done on Beacons:

2.) Beacons Product Purchaser and/or Downloader

2. Unique Form + Welcome for Product Purchaser / Downloader

Instead of using an email signup block to collect emails, some creators will employ a free product to achieve the same thing (get a subscriber). In this situation, you might want to send a welcome email that’s different from your default store customer welcome email. Especially to upsell them to your paid products. Or, similarly, send a unique welcome sequence to a purchaser of a lower priced item to upsell to a related higher priced product.

Whatever the reason, if you’re looking to create a unique welcome email sequence respective to which product they purchased/downloaded, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Email Marketing App (left hand navigation bar) > Automations (top navigation bar).

  2. In this step, you can either start a new automation (click the blue “+ New Automation” button) OR duplicate your previously built welcome email as a template to edit

  3. Once you are in the welcome/sequence editor, be sure to checkbox the respective product.

    1. Click into the top “Start automation when” to pop-up trigger options.

    2. Pick the “After someone purchases a product” option.

    3. Select and checkbox the correct product

  4. Build your unique, product-specific welcome email sequence!

Situations where you might want to have unique welcome automations:

  • You’re running an activation for signups, and you want to say or deliver something unique to these signups. Like a random giveaway.

  • You have audiences interested in different kinds of emails or content

  • Instead of employing an email signup form block to collect emails, some creators will employ a free product to achieve the same thing (get a lead).

  • You’re running promotion for a specific event or thing, and you want to create an audience group to gauge interest and distribute information about the subject of said promotion.
